The podcast for creators
If you’re a writer or creator, then I highly recommend that you listen to Jay Clouse’s podcast Creator Science, especially his Q&A’s. Here are some key insights from a recent episode. Jay keeps his membership small. He emphasizes engagement and quality rather than volume. Creator businesses can be scalable but you have to think ahead, and you need to spend a long time (I would say years) creating for others before you can create exclusively for yourself. Start hiring and delegating earlier, which is advice I hear more often these days. Delegate low ROI activites. Have a personal website too, not just social media pages. I like Jay’s “just-in-time” learning strategy. What is something that you are struggling with and then learn that right now. I used to read random books and watch random content but now I’m more precise and more intentional about what I read. Connect with people who have solved the problem and don’t be afraid to ask for help. Focus more on cultivating relationships. On creating good content, Jay says to spend more time in the ideation phase- what problem are you solving and for who? Don’t focus exclusively on discovery platforms (TikTok) or relationship platforms (LinkedIn). You need people to discover you and then engage with you. Quotes: “Not everyone should be an entrepreneur.” Imagine if everybody decided to become an entrepreneur. We can’t all be solopreneurs. “When is enough?” At some point, money no longer becomes an issue, but I don’t think we can ever have enough challenges in our lives. We need to be building something and setting new goals. “You don’t notice daily changes but over time you see the change.” If you improve everyday for a year, you won’t believe how much progress you can make. Effort compounds over time. “Don’t take leaps without parachutes.” Don’t become a full-time creator too soon. Focus on client work in the beginning. That’s when you build skill and optimize your workflow. “Success is feeling excited when you wake up.” That’s not a bad definition. “Imposter syndrome means you care.”

Fantastic! Can’t stop listening!!

I have learnt so much from these episodes and have really enjoyed the guest speakers who have come onto the podcast! I can’t wait for the next episode!

So helpful!
Creator Science is an easy listen- I always feel inspired a capable after listening. A good listen for encouragement and ideas!

A must listen for every entrepreneur and all creators
The interviews are amazing and packed with value, Jay is a joy to listen to and I love the quick pace in the conversations.

Great podcast (and great ads!)
The content is worth it: high signal, I usually listen at 2-3x and I have to slow down for this one. Another thing I like is the sponsorship ads: they’re short and salient, it’s easy to know if I’m interested in the product or not.

Must Follow for Inspiration
I first heard Jay speak at Craft & Commerce 2023 and I loved his practical approach to age-old wisdom. If you haven’t heard his sawdust analogy when it comes to building furniture AND being a creator, it’s a must! Follow his show for great interviews, advice that’ll keep you motivated, and guest experts you didn’t know you need to be following ASAP.

Best business podcast for content creators
Jay has amazing guests and together they drop top tips for the business of being a content creator. I listen every week!

Extraordinary exploration of the creator realm!
An utterly class podcast in every respect! Jay’s warmth and humanity underpins the zippy production, engaging guests and focused intentionality of the Podcast. Exploring the creator realm from every possible angle, few Podcasts make such an effort to make sure that every episode is stuffed full of value. I especially appreciate the mix of guest interviews, deep dives into singular topics (led by the host), and the more relaxed conversational episodes. Highly recommend and looking forward to following the journey (and catching up on the back catalogue!) Thanks Jay and the team! Jim K

Great questions and high quality guests!
Besides being one of the nicest people on the internet, Jay is an excellent interviewer and podcaster. He breaks things down so that you don’t have to be a tech genius to understand. Excellent show!

Love the intentionality behind the interviews
I came across Jay’s podcast from a friend’s recommendation and this podcast has been such a great contrast from all the typical podcast interview formats. You can tell Jay takes the time to get to know his interviewees + take pride in being a great host. It really does shine through and make a difference to us as listeners. Thanks Jay! Keep ‘em coming!

Great for getting into creator's processes
Jay's interviews of his guests bring insight into the inner workings of how people create and do so at different scales, with various goals and platforms. There are many "so that's how they did it" moments. I do wish there were more creators from diverse backgrounds racially, culturally, socio-economically. I have learned so much from the guests he does have and look forward to many more episodes.

Quality podcast. Great production value

Amzing Pod!
I listen to a ton of business focused podcasts, and while there’s a ton of options out there, it’s rare to find the quality of work that Jay has created with his show. It’s very clear how much effort he puts into Creator Science — from production quality, to guest selection, to topics discussed, his thoughtful questions, and everything in between. Jay isn’t doing what everyone else is doing either. He makes a point to create a unique listening experience for his audience. I listen every week, and the consistency in both publishing frequency and quality content is top notch. Many actionable takeaways on every episode. I appreciate what you do Jay, keep creating!
